These surviving issue or ownership markings give the piece considerably more character than an unmarked example and are suggestive of genuine period military service.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA solid and attractive 19th-century military sword with regulation-style brass hilt and substantial straight blade, representative of the type of sidearm carried by Union NCOs during the period.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe combination of the \u003cstrong\u003e1862 date, ADK marking, MHC stamp and repeated “19” marking\u003c\/strong\u003e make the sword worthy of further research. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eCondition:\u003c\/strong\u003e Good original antique condition with age-related wear, marks, patina and surface oxidation throughout.
