Terms of Sale

All items offered by Castlereagh Antiques are antique, vintage, used or collectible unless stated otherwise. Condition, age, attribution and provenance are described in good faith from the information reasonably available to us. Age-related wear, patina, historic repairs, restoration and alterations may be present. Photographs form a key part of the description.

Please ask for any further information or photographs you require before purchasing. Nothing on this page affects your statutory rights.

Payment

Prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP). Payment is due at checkout unless otherwise agreed. We may cancel an order if an item has already sold, a pricing or listing error has occurred, payment cannot be completed, or the sale or delivery would be unlawful.

Antique Firearms

All antique firearms offered by Castlereagh Antiques are in calibres recognised as obsolete under both the Northern Ireland obsolete-calibre list and the Great Britain obsolete-calibre list. They are sold as collectors’ items/curios and are intended to fall within the antique-firearm exemptions under Article 81(1) of the Firearms (Northern Ireland) Order 2004 and Section 58(2) of the Firearms Act 1968, as applicable.

UK Delivery

UK delivery is included in the advertised price unless the listing specifically states otherwise. Orders are sent using an appropriate tracked service, normally on a next-working-day service where available.

Because our stock includes antiques, militaria and other unusual items, the carrier and service used will depend on the nature, dimensions, value and legal requirements of the item. Certain bladed, age-restricted or regulated items may require an age-verified, specialist or otherwise appropriate delivery service.

Delivery times are estimates rather than guarantees. We will provide tracking information where available.

International Delivery

International shipping is considered case by case. Please contact us before ordering if delivery outside the United Kingdom is required. Buyers are responsible for checking whether an item can lawfully be imported into their country and for any import duties, taxes, customs charges or local fees. We may decline to export an item where legal, carrier or practical restrictions apply.

Age-Restricted & Regulated Items

Where required by law, we must request satisfactory proof of age, identity, licensing or other eligibility before completing or dispatching an order. We will not complete a sale or shipment where the relevant legal requirements cannot be met.

Refusal of Sales

Castlereagh Antiques reserves the right to refuse the sale of any antique weapon where we reasonably believe the purchaser may be unsuitable to own or possess it, or where completing the sale would be inappropriate or unlawful.

Returns & Cancellations

If you are a consumer buying at a distance, you will normally have the right to cancel within 14 days after the day you receive the goods. After notifying us of cancellation, you will normally have a further 14 days to return the item.

For a change-of-mind cancellation, the buyer is normally responsible for the direct cost of returning the item unless we agree otherwise. Returned items should be securely packed and sent by an appropriate tracked and insured service. If an item is faulty or materially misdescribed, please contact us so that we can arrange the appropriate remedy in accordance with your statutory rights.

Where a statutory cancellation right applies, any refund due will be made within the period required by law. Additional delivery costs above the least expensive standard delivery option originally offered are not normally refundable.
